Does The Apophis Asteroid Devastate Earth In 2029? Around the globe there are stories popping up about Apophis, the asteroid that is going to come very close to a collision with earth in the year 2029. Amateurs and scientists do agree that currently there is not a great threat that it will hit the earth it will pass very close in relation to space distances. If it does come within 20,000 miles of earth it could do damage to satellites located in the Clarks Belt. These satellites are used for military, government, commercial, entertainment, weather, and communication purposes. The possibility to damage to them from Apophis is to far into the future to predict.
Though currently researchers feel the chances are 1 in 45,000 that it could collide with earth, the real concern is how earths gravitational influence on this pass could possibly make it collide with earth seven years later in 2036.
People are already wondering if this could be the asteroid or planet mentioned in the book of Revelation
What Came First: Viruses or Cells? A new computational method for tracing the evolution of proteins may help scientists determine how life on Earth began…and solve the question of whether or not viruses developed before living cells. A Warm Breath of Carbon Dioxide When the sun was young, it didn't produce enough heat to unfreeze ice on our planet. So why was the early Earth covered in liquid water and not ice? Lukewarm Supervolcano Yellowstone is known for its hot springs and geysers, and the unique forms of life that inhabit them. Scientists are now learning more about the mysterious 'supervolcano' that powers these environments, and whether or not the giant could erupt again. Earth's Leaky Atmosphere Using satellite observations, scientists have discovered why the Earth is constantly leaking oxygen into space. The finding provides insight into the mechanisms behind oxygen loss on our planet.
called Wormwood. According to the description of Wormwood (referred to by some as Planet-X) in the Bible it does not appear to be an asteroid such as Apophis. It points more towards it being the composition of a star like a large ball of fire.
Looking at the evidence currently available it does not appear that Apophis (sometimes spelled Apofiz) asteroid fits into the timeline according to the Bible. Earth’s encounter with Wormwood is supposed to take place in the middle of the 70th week on a Sabbath year cycle. Considering that a Sabbath year cycle has seven years in it one can do the math based upon the first recorded Sabbath year and see that the year 2029 does not fit into the equation.
According to some different studies, Wormwood will cause devastation to earth long before 2029. In fact it appears that the Great Tribulation, the Rapture, and even the Second Advent and Millennium will have happened before Apophis’ close miss of earth. No one knows the exact time and place that these events will take place but new findings are narrowing it down to the near future. The Bible is very specific about some of these events.
CNN published an article December, 29, 2006 in the Science and Space area that gives a lot of information about Apophis. The media is bringing more “end of the world” possibilities to our attention with its large outreach through television, radio, and the Internet. It is now becoming an understood possibility to people in all walks of life that an asteroid like Apophis, could change life as we know it on earth or even destroy it. This much attention has been leading to studies and research on how mankind could actually change the orbital path of an asteroid in the event of a possible collision with earth.
The media shows the public that we should be aware that something like this can take place. Amateurs and professionals alike compare notes with the use of the Internet allowing for large networks of people to build a more solid look into what the future may hold for mankind. What do the Apophis Asteroid and Planet-X or Wormwood have in common? According to the Author Tim McHyde very little.
